Job summary

Health NZ West Coast is seeking a dedicated Community Mental Health Professional (CMHP) to join the West Coast team in Greymouth. You will manage caseloads, conduct assessments, provide crisis intervention, and work within a recovery-focused framework to support individuals and whānau in a rural New Zealand setting.

The role requires NZ registration in nursing or an allied health field, current annual practising certificate, a postgraduate mental health qualification, and at least three years’

Qualifications

• Registered health professional with NZ registration and practising certificate.
• Postgraduate qualification in mental health.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in mental health.

Responsibilities

• Manage caseloads, complete assessments and risk management; develop recovery-focused treatment plans.
• Provide triage, crisis intervention and brief interventions.
• Undertake duties under the Mental Health Act as a Duly Authorised Officer (training provided).
• Collaborate with service users, whānau and interprofessional teams to support recovery and wellbeing.
• Contribute to equitable health outcomes for Māori and rural populations.
