Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is based in Greymouth on the West Coast and is seeking a full-time Mental Health clinician to join our permanent team. You will manage caseloads, provide risk assessments, triage, and lead recovery‑oriented plans with service users and whānau.

Essential qualifications include NZ registration or allied health status, an Annual Practising Certificate, and at least three years in mental health, with a focus on cultural safety and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Qualifications

• Essential: NZ Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional.
• Current Annual Practising Certificate.
• A relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mental health.
• Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and cultural safety.
• Full NZ driver’s licence (manual preferred).
• Competence using electronic health systems and documentation platforms.
• Desirable: DAO warrant or willingness to complete training.
• Experience with talking therapies or brief interventions.
• Familiarity with West Coast community resources.
• RN portfolio for PDRP (if RN).

Based in Greymouth on the West Coast. Full‑time (1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week). Permanent position with Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora.

Qualifications & Experience

• Current Annual Practising Certificate.
• A relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in mental health.
• Strong understanding of cultural safety and the principles of TeTiritioWaitangi.
• Full NewZealand driver’s licence (manual transmission preferred).
• Competence using electronic health systems and clinical documentation platforms.
• Desirable:
• Current DAO warrant (or willingness to complete training).
• CEP (Co‑Existing Problems) capability.
• Experience with talking therapies or brief interventions.
• Familiarity with West Coast community resources.
• For registered nurses, a current portfolio as part of the Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP).
