Job summary

Lely is seeking a Service & Installation Technician to join our Southland team in New Zealand. You'll install, commission, service and repair cutting-edge robotic milking systems, while performing preventative maintenance and optimizing performance with full training provided.

Travel across New Zealand farms is common, and you will join a collaborative, technology-driven environment that emphasizes customer service, problem-solving, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience within the dairy industry and understanding of New Zealand farming systems.
• Electrical, mechanical, engineering, or technical trade background.
• EST registration and/or trade qualifications (highly regarded).
• Milking Machine Tester/Technician qualifications (preferred).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Comfort with computers, software and modern technology platforms.
• Ability to work independently while also being a valuable team player.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to travel and work additional hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service and repair Lely robotic milking systems and related technologies.
• Perform preventative maintenance and performance optimization (full training provided).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot low-voltage electrical and mechanical faults.
• Respond to technical issues and provide practical real-time solutions.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call roster to support customers.
• Build trusted relationships with farmers and deliver excellent customer service.
• Manage spare parts inventory and maintain your vehicle service.
• Contribute to rollout of new technologies across New Zealand farms.
