Job summary

The New Zealand Automobile Association Inc. is seeking an automotive professional for rotorua-based roadside support, diagnosing issues and delivering safe, effective solutions to Members.

You will respond to dispatches, explain faults and options, and process payments using AA systems. Applicants should hold a Level 4 Automotive Trade Qualification (or equivalent), have strong diagnostic skills, a full NZ Driver Licence, and be comfortable using tablets and in-vehicle tech.

Qualifications

• A Level 4 Automotive Trade Qualification (or equivalent) and solid, recent experience in the automotive industry.
• Strong diagnostic skills to identify issues quickly and provide roadside solutions.
• A clean, full New Zealand Driver Licence and safe driving practices.
• Confidence using basic computer systems, tablets and in-vehicle technology.
• Excellent communication skills to explain faults and options clearly.
• Commitment to customer service and representing the AA brand professionally.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster across seven days including holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert roadside assistance to AA Members, diagnosing vehicle issues and delivering effective, safe solutions.
• Respond to jobs dispatched by our Contact Centre and Dispatch teams, managing workload while meeting service standards and KPIs.
• Communicate clearly with Members, explaining faults, next steps, and options available to them.
• Process payments accurately using AA systems to ensure access to services.
• Identify opportunities to promote AA products and partner services that meet customer needs.
• Maintain a professional image, including vehicle presentation and uniform standards.
• Care for the service vehicle, tools, and equipment; work safely at all times.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support colleagues.
