Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced Pavement Marker to join our Roadmarking team across the Upper South Island, with roles based in Christchurch, Nelson or Blenheim. You will operate roadmarking equipment and contribute to safe, high-quality road markings. This is full-time, on-site work with training and career progression opportunities. You'll work as part of a supportive team, travel between sites as required, and need a Class 2 licence and roadmarking experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' roadmarking experience operating Type A and Type B equipment.
• Full Class 2 Driver Licence.
• Strong knowledge of roadmarking practices, equipment and industry standards.
• A proactive and safety-first mindset.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work independently and remain productive under pressure.
• A high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Flexibility to work across different projects and locations when required.

Responsibilities

• Operating Type A and Type B roadmarking equipment safely and efficiently.
• Delivering maintenance remarking and new roadmarking works to a high standard.
• Carrying out pre-start inspections and ensuring equipment is well maintained.
• Supporting the planning and coordination of plant servicing and repairs.
• Working collaboratively with crew members to achieve project and production targets.
• Maintaining compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Contributing to a positive team culture focused on safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
