Job summary

HEB Construction in Christchurch, NZ is seeking a Sealing Labour / Operator to join our Surfacing team on a full-time, on-site basis. You’ll support sealing and surfacing works across projects, operating plant and performing manual labour as required.

This hands-on role emphasizes safety, quality, and environmental responsibility, with pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and opportunities for training. A strong safety focus and a can-do attitude are valued.

Qualifications

• Full Class 1 driver’s licence required.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual labour.
• Strong health and safety focus.
• Reliable with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Good verbal communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support the surfacing crew with day-to-day activities on site.
• Operate plant and machinery you are trained and competent to use.
• Carry out manual labouring duties when not operating plant.
• Attend and participate in pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
• Use tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintain and look after tools and site equipment.
• Report hazards, incidents, near misses and non-compliance.
• Follow safe work methods, quality requirements and environmental controls.
• Occasionally work night shifts, weekends or extra hours as required.
• Work collaboratively to deliver quality work right the first time.
