NES Fircroft is seeking two Rig Electricians / E-Techs for NZ geothermal and oil & gas projects in Taupo and Taranaki. This is a unique opportunity to work on New Zealand's most exciting energy projects within the rapidly growing geothermal industry in the Taupo region (including working on New Zealand's pioneering 'Superhot' geothermal exploration project) as well as other renewable geothermal projects and conventional oil and gas energy work.
In this even time roster role with projects going from contract to contract for at least the next two years, we are seeking two experienced Rig Electricians / Electronic Technicians (E-Techs) to support a range of high-profile energy projects across Taupo and Taranaki. Candidates will contribute to drilling and exploration operations while working with leading energy operators. A particular highlight will be involvement in the Superhot geothermal exploration project, which is a groundbreaking initiative and a first-of-its-kind project in New Zealand.
The role will involve maintaining, troubleshooting and repair of electrical, electronic, control and instrumentation systems associated with drilling operations. You will also perform preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnose faults, support operational requirements, maintain accurate maintenance records, and ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with applicable New Zealand health, safety, environmental, and workplace requirements. The Rig Electrician / E-Tech may also undertake any other duties reasonably associated with the role and required to support Company equipment operations.
It would be highly desirable to have previous experience working in a similar role within the oil and gas or geothermal industries. experience; remote or rotational work experience; electrical instrumentation and control systems experience.
