Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking an RF Systems Engineer I – Operations to ensure operational readiness of TT&C systems and space-to-ground interfaces. You will define TT&C configurations, support mission plans, and work with RF, GNC, and Operations teams to ensure launch readiness and successful mission execution.

The role emphasizes hands-on analysis, data processing, and documentation, contributing to mission success and post-flight reviews in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering (Electronics, Communications, RF, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for data processing and analysis.
  • Strong RF fundamentals and ability to perform basic RF analysis.
  • Experience integrating and testing RF systems and RF test equipment (e.g., VNAs, spectrum analysers).
  • Knowledge of modulation and coding techniques and link budget analysis.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight mission deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

  • Review mission requirements, trajectories, and link analyses to define optimal operational TT&C configurations
  • Support development of TT&C plans for non-standard missions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with GNC, Flight Software, and Operations teams to ensure seamless integration
