Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to develop avionics for the Electron vehicle. You will manage requirements, hardware development, testing, and certification across a full lifecycle to deliver flight‑ready systems for rapid launch cadence.

Role requires strong problem solving, clear communication with regulatory bodies, and hands‑on hardware debugging skills for integration with hardware, software, and operations teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechatronics or related engineering discipline.
  • At least 2+ years developing electronic systems through design, test and qualification.
  • 2+ years in systems engineering with requirements and verification for hardware or systems.
  • Hands-on hardware debugging with oscilloscope, power supplies, and multimeters.
  • Strong written communication for technical docs and regulatory submissions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage requirements and verification activities across hardware and systems.
  • Lead component qualification testing including vibration, thermal, and TVAC.
  • Collaborate with production to implement RCC-319 requirements.
  • Oversee HITL and end-to-end testing at launch sites.
  • Develop data analysis processes and contribute to mission analysis.
