Farmlands Rangiora is seeking a part-time Retail Assistant to join our store team. You will provide retail sales and customer service to our shareholders, advising on sheep and beef, dry stock, and general agricultural products.

You will operate the POS system and assist with stocking and display duties. You will join a Kiwi-owned cooperative famed for supporting NZ farmers in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience or background in the farming sector.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with a wide range of customers.
• Retail sales or customer service experience, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
• Sound computer skills, with confidence using point-of-sale systems and basic administrative tools.

We’re looking for someone to join the team at our Rangiora store working 14 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing retail sales and customer service to our shareholders.

• Advising customers on a range of sheep and beef, dry stock and general agricultural products.

• Operating a point of sale (POS) system.

• Restocking and displaying our products.

Mʰhou ake | About you

You’ll bring a mix of product knowledge, customer focus, and practical capability to the role, including:

• Experience or background in the farming sector.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of customers.

• Retail sales or customer service experience, ideally in a fast‑paced environment.

• Sound computer skills, with confidence using point‑of‑sale systems and basic administrative tools.

• The ability to carry out the physical requirements of the role, including regular manual handling and lifting and carrying items up to 25 kg (e.g. bags of stock such as dog food and farm supplies).

Bonus points if you also have:

• A valid forklift licence.

• A current first aid certificate.
