Job summary

Desai and Company Limited in Auckland is hiring a reliable Retail Assistant to join our convenience store. You will help with stock, stock checks, and daily store operations while delivering friendly service.

The role requires ability to operate POS, manage stock, assist with deliveries, and comply with safety and age-restricted product rules. This is a full-time position offering minimum 30 hours per week and a wage of 24–28 NZD per hour.

Qualifications

• NZQF Level 2 or 3 qualification; OR at least one year of relevant work experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to check stock, deliveries and pricing accurately.
• Reliable, punctual and team oriented.
• Must have valid NZ work status and pass checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly service.
• Operate POS and EFTPOS, handle cash and balance till.
• Process sales, refunds, exchanges and loyalty transactions.
• Replenish shelves and maintain displays.
• Assist with deliveries, stock counts and inventory checks.
• Ensure shop floor is clean, safe and welcoming.
