Job summary

Early Settler is seeking a dynamic Retail Consultant to join our Hamilton store team. You will deliver personalised customer experiences, understand customer needs, and recommend furniture and homeware that match their vision. You will also drive sales targets while maintaining excellent service and store presentation.

We value upbeat teamwork, product knowledge, and a passion for home styling. Physical tasks are part of the role, including lifting and moving product as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years retail experience in home/lifestyle products.
• Strong communication and computer literacy.
• Ability to engage customers and exceed sales targets.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving products.
• NZ citizenship, resident, or valid NZ work visa.

Responsibilities

• Ascertain customer's needs and recommend items.
• Keep product knowledge up to date to describe features and benefits.
• Upsell and cross-sell; inform customers about promotions.
• Provide exceptional customer service consistently.
• Ensure store presentation aligns with VM guidelines.

Description:

What is the Role:

We are currently looking for a dynamic Retail Consultant to join our store team.

This Retail Consultant is responsible for ensuring high levels of customer service by offering a personalised experience, taking a genuine interest in getting to know our customers and recommending items that match their needs. This role is also responsible for achieving sales targets and Store KPIs (conversion, customer service score, average transaction value,etc).

Key Responsibilities:

• Ascertain customer's needs and recommend items that match.
• Keep up to date with product knowledge to accurately describe product features and benefits
• Upsell and cross-sell where appropriate - inform customers about sales and promotions
• Consistently provide exceptional customer service
• Demonstrate our values in action during every customer interaction
• Ensure store presentation consistently aligns with Visual Merchandising (VM) guidelines
• Assist, resolve or escape all customer concerns in an appropriate and timely manner

What's needed to succeed:

• At least 2 years retail experience in home/lifestyle products preferred
• The ability to engage with our customers to bring their vision for their home to life
• An "I've got this" attitude for selling and exceeding your sales targets
• Exceptional communication skills and computer literacy
• The capability to balance customer care and administrative duties
• A genuine interest in home-styling, furniture or creating welcoming living spaces is a plus!

• As we are a furniture store, the role involves regular manual handling of products including lifting, carrying and moving items of varying sizes. Applicants must be physically capable of safely performing these tasks as part of their daily duties.
• Applicants must be a NZ citizen, resident, or have already secured the right to work in New Zealand and therefore hold a valid visa.
• Roster - Friday 8.45am - 5.15pm, Sunday 9.45am - 5.15pm
