Avani Queenstown Hotel is seeking a service-driven Restaurant Supervisor to join our team on a full-time basis. You will oversee the food & beverage team, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences within the hotel’s restaurant and bar.

Keys to success include at least 1 year of hands-on supervision experience, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to guest inquiries, service quality, and inventory support.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year hands-on experience in a food & beverage supervision role
• Solid understanding of alcohol (preferred)
• Proven supervisory or leadership experience in a food & beverage environment
• Strong understanding of hospitality operations and high-quality service delivery
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
• Professional presentation and ability to lead by example
• Reliability and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages to guests within the hotel and restaurant, ensuring professional and attentive service.
• Lead, motivate and coach the Food & Beverage team to deliver consistent service standards.
• Monitor service quality and ensure consistency across all shifts and service periods.
• Manage guest enquiries and resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
• Support inventory management, stock control, and day-to-day Food & Beverage operations.
• Work closely with management to maintain high-quality service and efficient daily operations.

Job Description

Avani Queenstown Hotel are looking for an enthusiastic and service-driven Restaurant Supervisor to join our team on a full-time basis.

As a valued team member, you will oversee and support the food & beverage team to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences by:

• Servingfood and beverages to guests in a within the hotel andrestaurant, ensuring professional and attentive service.
• Leads, motivates, and coaches the Food & Beverage team to deliver consistent service standards.
• Monitors service quality and ensuringconsistency across all shifts and service periods.
• Manages guest enquiries and resolves service issues promptly and professionally.
• Supports inventory management, stock control, and day-to-day Food & Beverage operations.
• Works closely with management to maintain high-quality service and efficient daily operations.

Shift Details (subject to change)

• Breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts
• Rotating roster across Monday through Sunday
• Split shifts may be required on some days
• Minimum hours: 30 hours per week
• $29 - $32NZD per hour (depending on experience)

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of 1 year of directly relevant hands-on experience in a food and beverage or restaurant supervision environment
• Solid understanding of alcohol (preferred but not essential)
• Proven supervisory or leadership experience in a food and beverage environment
• Strong understanding of hospitality operations and high-quality service delivery
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Professional presentation and the ability to lead by example
• Reliability and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
