Job summary

Fiordland Lodge in Te Anau, Southland, seeks a Restaurant Manager to lead our on-site restaurant and deliver luxury dining experiences for guests from around the world. You will oversee daily operations, coach front-of-house staff, manage shifts including some Duty Manager duties, and ensure exceptional service while embracing the lodge's seasonal schedule (until April 2026).

This hands-on role requires a proactive leader who can recruit, train, and motivate a small team in a premium setting,

Qualifications

• Passion for hospitality and a track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
• Experience in a restaurant at supervisory/management level.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate a diverse team.
• Involves recruitment, training, and coaching front-of-house staff.
• Personable and engaging with guests from around the world.
• Must commit for the entire season (until April 2026).

Fiordland Lodge has a rare opportunity for an exceptional Guest Service professional.

We are recruiting for an outstanding ‘Restaurant Manager’ to work at our Award Winning small Luxury Lodge

You will be responsible for overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of our acclaimed on-site restaurant, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for all our guests. Based in the stunning location of Te Anau, Southland, this is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team and contribute to the continued success of Fiordland Lodge.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A passion for the hospitality industry and a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service
• Experience in a restaurant at Supervisory/Management level. Current Supervisors with higher aspirations are encouraged to apply.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team
• Be part of recruitment - train, and coach front-of-house staff to deliver luxury service standards
• Personable and enagaing with our guests from all over the world
• Must be able to commit for the whole Season (until April 2026)

This is a ‘hands on’ role that requires you to be in front of our guests hosting and anticipating their needs. This role also includes some Duty Manager shifts.
