Job summary

OceanaGold is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer for our Waihi operation. The role combines hands-on mine planning with leading a small team to deliver weekly and monthly plans, while collaborating with geotechnical, survey and operations teams to ensure safe, efficient execution.

Ideal candidates will have a recognised Mining Engineering degree, 4+ years of post-graduate mining experience, and the ability to drive with a valid licence.

Qualifications

• Recognised degree in Mining Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years post-graduate mining engineering experience.
• Full and current driver licence preferred (manual vehicles).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development of short-term mine plans aligned to production targets and monthly plans.
• Review stope designs, drill and blast plans, and other technical documents to deliver monthly plans.
• Mentor and develop a team of 3–4 engineers; ensure safety and compliance in weekly/monthly mine plans.
