Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Computational Biologist to join a remote-first research team tackling genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics to advance drug development and personalized medicine. You will analyze complex datasets and mentor colleagues across time zones.

You will design pipelines, build predictive models, and communicate findings through publications and presentations while collaborating with bench scientists and bioinformaticians in a distributed setup.

Qualifications

• PhD in related quantitative field.
• 6+ years post-doctoral or industry experience in computational biology.
• Strong programming in Python or R.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced computational and statistical methods for analyzing large-scale biological datasets.
• Design and manage bioinformatics pipelines for genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data analysis.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists to interpret results, generate hypotheses, and guide future research directions.
• Contribute to the development of predictive models and machine learning algorithms for biological applications.
• Communicate complex findings effectively through presentations, reports, and publications.
• Mentor junior computational biologists and contribute to the team's technical growth.
