Job summary

Science Alive Charitable Trust in Christchurch, South Island, invites writers and educators to develop digital science lessons aligned to the Aotearoa NZ Curriculum for Phase 3 (Years 7–8).

Contract-for-services role paying $300 NZD + GST per completed lesson. You will research a brief, write complete lesson scripts, and collaborate with the education team. Remote, project-based work with potential for further opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong background in science, science education or science communication.
• Experience teaching or creating resources for Years 7–8 learners.
• Ability to explain scientific ideas clearly and engagingly.
• Understanding of the Aotearoa NZ Curriculum and te ao Māori/mātauranga Māori.

Responsibilities

• Research and write complete digital science lesson scripts using a brief and template provided by Science Alive.
• Design lessons for Phase 3 learners, including explanations, activities, prompts and real-world examples.
• Collaborate with the Science Alive education team for objectives, guidance and feedback; final edits handled by Science Alive.
• Payment is per completed lesson; engage in contract-for-services with remote, project-based work.
