Job summary

EverCommerce Solutions is hiring a Platform Engineering Manager for our EverWell platform (remote, NZ). You’ll lead Platform Development and DRE teams, shaping the tech roadmap and guiding architecture for secure, scalable systems serving a growing global customer base.

You’ll foster engineers’ growth and champion responsible AI, automation and best practices across engineering. You’ll partner with leaders to balance technical improvement with business needs, drive quarterly planning, and ensure

Qualifications

Proven experience leading software/platform/infrastructure teams within a SaaS or tech environment.
Strong people leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
Solid background in software architecture, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure and database technologies.
Experience shaping technical strategy, architecture decisions and long-term roadmaps.
Deep understanding of DevOps, automation, observability, security and reliability.
Experience with Agile delivery, Kanban and Jira for prioritisation and delivery.
Ability to balance technical improvements with business priorities.
Ability to collaborate across multiple engineering teams and stakeholders.
Curiosity about emerging technologies and responsible AI in engineering.

Responsibilities

Lead Platform Development and Database Reliability Engineering teams, supporting team growth and ownership of delivery.
Collaborate with Head of Platform Engineering to shape technical roadmap and priorities.
Guide architecture and technical decisions for secure, scalable systems.
Improve tools, processes, and platforms used by Product and Engineering teams.
Oversee database engineering to ensure reliability and scalability as the business grows.
Enhance monitoring, capacity planning, disaster recovery and platform performance.
Support quarterly planning with clear goals and kanban/Jira workflows.
Build strong cross-team relationships and help other teams succeed.
Encourage experimentation with automation and AI to improve engineering outcomes.
Provide regular feedback and develop engineers within the team.
