Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Data Scientist to join a fully remote team focused on advanced analytics within the Oil & Gas sector. You will leverage large datasets from exploration, production, and operations to uncover insights, build predictive models, and drive data-informed decision-making.

You will collaborate with geoscientists, engineers, and business leaders across the globe, contributing to digital transformation and technological advancement from your home office.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist, with significant experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R, and expertise in ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) and SQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement machine learning models for production forecasting, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance.
• Analyze large, complex datasets related to seismic data, well logs, production volumes, and operational parameters.
• Design and conduct data experiments to test hypotheses and validate model performance.
• Collaborate with domain experts to define business problems and translate them into data science solutions.
• Communicate findings and insights effectively through visualizations and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
