Job summary

Veolia Australia & New Zealand is seeking a Reliability Engineer to enhance the reliability, availability and lifecycle performance of wastewater treatment assets across the Wellington Region. You will work with operations, maintenance and project teams to identify failure modes, optimise maintenance strategies and support safe, compliant operations.

The role requires practical engineering expertise, field readiness and collaboration across mechanical, electrical and control systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Reliability Engineering or related field and 3+ years in reliability/maintenance/asset management.
• Experience with RCM, FMEA, RCA, and lifecycle asset management.
• Ability to read P&IDs and understand process flows and failure pathways.
• Strong problem-solving, reporting and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliability improvement plans for critical assets.
• Identify reliability risks and opportunities to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
• Develop asset criticality assessments and review maintenance programmes.
• Lead or support RCM, FMEA, maintenance strategy and optimisation reviews.
• Investigate significant equipment failures using RCA and related methods.
• Analyse data from CMMS, SCADA and condition monitoring systems and produce reliability reports.
