Westpac New Zealand Limited in Tauranga is seeking a commercially minded Relationship Associate to join our Institutional & Business Banking team. You will support Relationship Managers with credit analysis, financial insight and portfolio management to help deliver strong customer outcomes.

You will contribute to risk management through accurate credit submissions, monitoring triggers and covenants, and maintaining compliant lending practices.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Knowledge of banking products and the New Zealand market.
• Understanding of NZ’s commercial environment and economic landscape.
• Strong financial analysis and credit assessment capability.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and credit risk.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ownership of deliverables.
• Familiarity with legal and lending documentation will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality credit analysis, financial insight, and portfolio management support to Relationship Managers.
• Prepare accurate, concise credit submissions and monitor risk triggers, covenants and reviews.
• Support customer relationships and contribute to risk management and lending portfolio health.
