Job summary

Jack and Jill Educare in Hamilton is seeking a qualified Registered Teacher to design and deliver engaging learning experiences, build meaningful relationships with tamariki and their families, and help maintain a safe, inclusive centre environment.

You will plan learning programmes, keep accurate learning stories and assessments, and collaborate with the teaching team to sustain a stimulating, safe environment while meeting licensing criteria and contributing to quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Recognised ECE teaching qualification and current registration with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand.
• A practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Strong understanding of Te Whāriki and current ECE best practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate learning programmes in line with Te Whāriki.
• Keep learning stories, assessments, and documentation accurate and current.
• Foster genuine, respectful relationships with children, families, and whānau.
• Collaborate with the wider teaching team to maintain a stimulating, safe environment.
• Meet licensing criteria, health and safety standards, and centre policies.
• Contribute to ongoing quality improvement and professional development.
• Uphold the Teaching Council Code of Professional Responsibility.
