Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Registered Social Worker to join the Crisis Resolution Service in Wellington region. You will participate in acute assessments and risk formulations, working within a multidisciplinary team to support individuals and whānau across community settings.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years’ mental health experience, a valid driver’s license, and will train to become a duly authorised officer under the Mental Health Act.

Qualifications

• Registered Social Worker with at least 3 years’ experience in mental health.
• Strong risk assessment and formulation skills.
• Full driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute assessment and risk formulations in crisis settings.
• Collaborate within an MDT comprising nurses, doctors, social workers and administrators.
• Refer on to secondary or primary services as needed.

About theTeam/Service Location

The CrisisResolution Service is a community based mental health service which providesacute assessment/ risk formulation and treatment working in partnership withpeople, whanau community supports. We are a frontlineservice and work closely with Emergency departments and Police, socialservices, GP's and tertiary education providers. We assess people of all agesand refer on to secondary services or back to primary are. The team isMulti-Disciplinary comprising of Nurses, Doctors, Social Workers andAdministrators.

About you

You will be an integral partof MDT process. Train to become a dulyAuthorised officer for Mental Health Act 1992 within 6 months. Have a good sense of humour to workwithin a team. Registered Social Worker with at least 3years' experience working in a mental health setting. Full Driver's License essential. Skilled in risk assessments and riskformulations.
