Job summary

Summerset is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Trentham village in Wellington, NZ. You will join a team delivering resident-directed aged care, focused on enhancing residents' quality of life.

Typical duties include managing daily care from clinical to end-of-life, creating care plans, and leading shifts while guiding caregivers. The role runs on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 06:45–15:00, with strong family and resident engagement.

Qualifications

• Experienced Registered Nurse with NZ Registration and Practising Certificate.
• Genuine interest in working with older people and retirement village care delivery.
• Ability to take the lead, stay calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient.

Responsibilities

• Manage residents’ daily needs across clinical and end-of-life care.
• Develop and follow long-term care plans and clinical assessments.
• Take charge of the care centre on shifts and make clinical decisions.
• Deliver planned nursing care and evaluate progress with residents and families.
• Provide guidance to caregivers on shift and build trust with residents and families.

As a Registered Nurse at our Trentham village, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical duties include:

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

Qualifications

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.

• A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
