About the Role The Interventional Radiology (IR) department offers an exceptional opportunity to enhance your nursing practice in a dynamic, hands-on environment. As an IR nurse, you will be actively involved in procedures where patients are often conscious, making your role in delivering compassionate, participatory care essential. Youll draw on a wide range of nursing skills, including direct patient support, medication management, and procedural assistance, all while helping ensure a calm and positive experience for patients throughout their treatment.
Our department operates Monday to Friday, 08001630 hrs, and all team members participate in an on-call service for after-hours cases (including weekends). We are seeking a motivated individual who is enthusiastic about Interventional Radiology, eager to learn, and committed to collaborative teamwork, as we work closely with doctors and MITs. A strong focus on patient-centred care and the ability to participate in the on-call roster are essential.
The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Collective Agreement. Additional benefits include KiwiSaver contributions (if eligible), on call allowances, professional development and wellness support.
About the Team / Service Our nursing and multidisciplinary team is dynamic, flexible, and highly supportive. We work collaboratively to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals across the region. Interventional Radiology supports all medical specialties and performs a diverse range of minimally invasive procedures, guided by advanced imaging technologies such as X-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and CT. We wear protective lead gowns. Most procedures are performed with patients awake or under light sedation, making compassionate, hands-on care an essential part of our approach. We pride ourselves on being a close-knit team where every member is respected, valued, and plays a vital role in delivering exceptional care.
