Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Te Toka Tumai Auckland is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Auckland Diabetes Centre. This 0.5 FTE, permanent, part-time role offers opportunities to contribute to diabetes care across the Te Toka Tumai region, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and supporting equitable outcomes for Māori and Pacific peoples.

Qualifications

• Two years post-graduate experience.
• Diabetes experience preferred but not essential.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi to achieve equitable outcomes for Māori and Pacific.
• Ability to build relationships with patients and colleagues from all backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist diabetes nursing care to adults with complex needs across the service.
• Liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care plans.
• Address inequities and support Māori and Pacific communities.
• Complete Diabetes Nursing Knowledge and Skills Framework upon appointment.

About the Role

The Auckland Diabetes Service is committed to supporting Nurses within a professional career pathway. There is currently an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join and support our established multidisciplinary team. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for working across the whole Diabetes service, providing specialist Diabetes knowledge and nursing care to adult patients with complex Diabetes in the Te Toka Tumai region.

In this role, you will be liaising closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure a wholistic care package for your patient while addressing the issues of inequities for vulnerable populations.

You will be supported to complete the Diabetes Nursing Knowledge and Skills Framework which provides you with the competence and evidence to apply your knowledge when working with people living with complex Diabetes needs.
