Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Dunedin, Otago, NZ, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Breast Care Services. This permanent 0.4 FTE role offers a salary band of $81,000–$106,000 pro rata per annum plus KiwiSaver. Position commencing December 2026 at Dunedin Hospital.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, focusing on patient education, breast cancer care, and moving towards nurse-led clinics, with support for a Post-Graduate qualification in Breast Care.

Qualifications

• Hold a current APC for New Zealand.
• Organised with good computer literacy.
• Team based approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care within the Breast Care Services.
• Focus on patient education and support for women treated for breast cancer.
• Work towards nurse led clinics and participate in Quality Improvement.
• Support completion of a Post-Graduate qualification in Breast Care.
• This is a Monday to Friday position.

About the role

• Specialised department as a member of the multidisciplinary team with a primary focus to provide excellent patient care.
• Focus on patient education and support - particularly for women treated for breast cancer and other breast conditions
• Working towards nurse led clinics
• Involvement with Quality Improvement of the breast care service
• Whilst you are in this role you will be supported through completion of a Post-Graduate qualification in Breast Care
• This is a Monday to Friday position

Salary range

This role belongs to the expired NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between the step 2 ($81,683 p.a) and Step 7 ($106,739 p.a prorata) of the Registered Nurse scale.
