Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Taranaki, New Plymouth invites applications for a 0.3 FTE Registered Nurse in the diagnostic catheterization lab. The role involves preparing patients for coronary angiograms, assisting during procedures, and supporting post-procedure recovery in a multidisciplinary team.

Located at Taranaki Base Hospital in New Plymouth, the position is a fixed term until August 2027 with 24 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Be a Registered Nurse with APC (Assn. of Practising Nurses) and current NZ nursing registration.
• Excellent cardiovascular knowledge and recent acute hospital experience are essential.
• Cath lab experience is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is important.

Responsibilities

• Prepping patients for coronary angiograms.
• Assisting during diagnostic catheterization procedures and angiograms.
• Ensuring smooth post-procedure recovery and patient monitoring.

About the Role

As an RN in our diagnostic catheterization lab, youll be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team delivering diagnostic angiographic procedures. From prepping patients for coronary angiograms to assisting during procedures and ensuring smooth post-procedure recovery, your calm under pressure and clinical acumen will shine.

Taranaki Base Hospital is the largest hospital in the Taranaki region of New Zealand. Located in New Plymouth, it serves as the primary healthcare facility for the region, providing a wide range of medical and surgical services.

• Recent Acute experience in a New Zealand hospital essential


• Recent Cath lab experience preferred
