Job summary

Bupa Tōtara Gardens Care Home in Tikipunga, Whangārei, is seeking a Registered Nurse for a permanent full-time role. You’ll work an average of 32 hours weekly on a 4 on/2 off roster, with morning and afternoon shifts.

You’ll support Rest Home, Hospital and Dementia residents, delivering care with compassion and clinical excellence. Applicants must hold NZ RN registration and a current Practising Certificate.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Council of New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate.
• NZ aged care experience preferred; other RN backgrounds considered.
• Demonstrated improvements in care plans, assessments and documentation quality.
• Identifies health changes early and acts to ensure safety.
• Communicates effectively with residents, whānau, teams and providers.
• Maintains clinical standards, accurate documentation and quality improvement.
• Confident using clinical systems, records and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care in a 56-bed care home with Rest Home, Hospital and Dementia levels.
• Contribute to care plans, assessments and documentation enhancements.
• Identify health changes early and act to ensure resident safety.
• Communicate effectively with residents, whānau and care teams.

Bupa Tōtara Gardens Care Home in Tikipunga, Whangārei is a modern 56-bed care home offering Rest Home, Hospital, and Dementia levels of care. Residents benefit from modern facilities, private ensuites, person-centred care, outdoor spaces, and 24-hour clinical support. The care home is purpose-built, spacious, and designed to support both residents and the clinical team.

Hours & Roster Details:

• Employment Type: Permanent Full Time
• Hours: Average 32 hours per week
• Shift Time: Morning & Afternoons | Morning 6:45am to 3:13pm and Afternoon 2:45pm to 11:15pm
• Roster Pattern: 4 shifts on, 2 shifts off (6-weekly roster across Monday - Sunday)
