Job summary

Good Beginnings Infants & Toddlers in Masterton seeks a qualified registered teacher to plan and deliver curriculum-aligned learning experiences for tamariki. You will build strong relationships with whānau and contribute to a warm, inclusive centre culture.

You will deliver Te Whāriki-aligned programmes, maintain learning stories and assessments, and work collaboratively with a small team to ensure a safe, high-quality learning environment. A current Teaching Council registration is essential.

Qualifications

• A recognised ECE teaching qualification and current registration with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand.
• A practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Sound knowledge of Te Whāriki and current ECE best practice.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine passion for early childhood education and child development.
• A collaborative, positive, and adaptable approach to teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate learning programmes aligned with Te Whāriki.
• Maintain accurate learning stories, assessments, and documentation.
• Build genuine relationships with children, families, and whānau.
• Collaborate with teaching team to maintain a safe, stimulating environment.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety, and centre policies.
• Support quality improvement and professional development initiatives.
• Model professional conduct in line with Teaching Council standards.
