The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is seeking a Veterinarian Reliever to provide verification services across the Manawatū–Wellington region. This permanent, full-time role requires veterinary expertise to support food safety and biosecurity objectives and to issue official assurances for export products.

The successful candidate will be registered in New Zealand with a full driver’s licence and the ability to travel to multiple sites, including Bulls, Marton, Dannevirke, Levin and

Qualifikationen

• Be a New Zealand registered Veterinarian (or be able to obtain registration).
• Hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence (or be able to obtain).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate integrity, resilience, adaptability and values.
• Experience in premises verification or NZ red meat verification is advantageous.

• Verify that official assurances for export products are valid and withstand audits.
• Support operators to implement timely corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with regional MPI team and external stakeholders such as farmers.
• Tailor communication with operator personnel at different levels to maximise effectiveness.
