Job summary

Pinnacle Midlands Health Network is seeking an experienced Regional Nurse Coordinator to lead the Supported First Year of Practice programme across Te Manawa Taki/Midlands Region. You will coordinate graduate nurse support, bring together providers and educators, and drive workforce development in primary and community care.

The role requires strong relationship management, post-registration nursing experience, and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NZ APC and five years post-registration clinical nursing experience.
• Experience in workforce development, programme coordination, service improvement or similar initiatives (desirable).
• Commitment to culturally responsive practice and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and virtual collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse to join Pinnacle Midlands Health Network as a Regional Nurse Coordinator. Lead the coordination of the Supported First Year of Practice (SFYP) programme across Te Manawa Taki/Midlands Region.

In this role, you'll provide leadership and oversight to support graduate nurses transitioning into primary and community care. Bring together providers, educators, clinical leaders, and key stakeholders to enable a coordinated regional approach to workforce development and nursing career pathways.

Build and maintain strong relationships across the health sector, promote high-quality transition-to-practice experiences, strengthen clinical learning environments, and support preceptor capability. You'll also contribute to programme evaluation, continuous improvement, and future workforce planning.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and influential nursing professional who thrives on building connections, driving positive change, and supporting the future nursing workforce.

The role is a fixed-term position until June 2027, with part-time or flexible working arrangements available for the right candidate.

About You

Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate (APC).

• Minimum of five years post-registration clinical nursing experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of primary, community, or integrated care environments.
• Strong relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.
• Experience in workforce development, programme coordination, service improvement, or similar initiatives (desirable).
• Experience as a clinical mentor, preceptor, educator, or clinical coach (desirable).
• Sound clinical judgement and an understanding of graduate nurse support needs.
• Commitment to culturally responsive practice, health equity, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and virtual collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
• Full

New Zealand driver's licence.
