Job summary

Huakina Development Trust seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in Pukekohe. You will deliver person-centred care, undertake clinical assessments and support care planning within a multidisciplinary team serving our whānau and community.

The role emphasises culturally responsive care, adherence to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice and opportunities for professional development in a Kaupapa Māori driven health and social service organisation.

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and an annual practising certificate (APC).
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in a primary healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, effective and culturally responsive nursing care.
  • Undertake comprehensive health assessments and clinical interventions.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments within your scope of practice.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, clients and whānau to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Participate in health promotion, education and preventative care initiatives.

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide professional nursing care that promotes the health, wellbeing and independence of our patients. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver person-centered care, undertake clinical assessments, develop care plans, and support positive health outcomes for individuals and whānau.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide safe, effective and culturally responsive nursing care.
  • Undertake comprehensive health assessments and clinical interventions.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments within your scope of practice.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, clients and whānau to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Participate in health promotion, education and preventative care initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, organisational policies and legislative requirements.
About you
  • Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) and at least 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in a primary healthcare setting.
  • Confidence in triaging emergencies and providing emergency nursing support when needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care within a team environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in healthcare practice.
  • Experience with Medtech Evolution
  • Phlebotomy (an advantage)
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand
  • Currently living in New Zealand
  • Willingness to complete a Police Vetting
