Job summary

WorkSafe New Zealand is seeking an Intelligence Analyst, Regional, to provide operational regulatory intelligence supporting frontline inspectorate activity. You will analyse data from diverse sources, identify regional risks and trends, and translate findings into clear intelligence products for inspectors and leaders.

Collaborating with inspectors and regulatory teams, you will help ensure evidence-based, targeted responses to evolving risks, deliver dashboards and reports, and build strong

Qualifications

• Experience analysing quantitative and qualitative information to generate meaningful insights.
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work with incomplete or ambiguous information.
• Proven ability to write clear, structured reports or intelligence products.
• Experience managing competing priorities and stakeholder requests.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience in an intelligence, regulatory, or public sector environment is desirable.
• A relevant qualification, or progress towards one, in intelligence analysis or a related analytical discipline is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyse operational data and information to identify regional risks and emerging trends.
• Develop intelligence products that support regulatory targeting and prioritisation.
• Translate complex findings into practical, actionable intelligence.
• Build strong relationships with inspectors and operational stakeholders to understand emerging regulatory challenges.
• Provide timely intelligence support for regional regulatory activities.
• Produce operational reports and dashboards that support decision-making.
• Escalate emerging issues requiring wider organisational attention.
