Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Electrical Colo Regional Engineer for Auckland to provide full lifecycle support to data centers from design inception through site improvements and maintenance. You will be the go-to engineering resource for the region and lead projects to fit out data centers as AWS expands its fleet to hyper-scale.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering judgement with ability to provide recommendations amid uncertainty.
• Detail and data oriented approach to design and operations.
• Experience managing engineering projects and consultants.
• Ability to build trust and relationships with Operations, Commissioning, Construction and Design teams.
• Willingness to work in field to observe activities up close.

Responsibilities

• Review design input and submittals with colo vendors for new Data Centers in the region.
• Act as resident engineer during colo construction, supporting commissioning and handover.
• Troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, and document corrective actions for site equipment failures.
• Provide technical support to design for upgrades to increase capacity, availability, and efficiency.
• Support operating partners to review and approve colo data center upgrade designs.
• Interface with data center design engineering, server hardware, and EH&S teams to maintain standards.
• Lead engineering site audits and produce risk reports with mitigations.
