EcoChill in Auckland is offering a Refrigeration Apprentice position, giving hands-on experience across supermarket and CO2 systems while working toward a nationally recognised Level 4 NZ Refrigeration & Air Conditioning qualification.

You will receive structured on-the-job training, mentoring from experienced technicians, a company vehicle and tools, plus benefits like health insurance and birthday leave as you progress through the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Interest in refrigeration and a desire to build a long-term career in the trade.
• Strong mechanical know-how and problem solving ability.
• Willingness to learn and take guidance from experienced technicians.
• Good communication skills and a positive team attitude.
• Holder of a valid New Zealand driver licence or working towards one.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planned preventative maintenance and servicing.
• Learn fault finding, diagnostics and repair techniques.
• Support installation and commissioning of commercial refrigeration systems.
• Work alongside experienced technicians on supermarket, industrial and commercial projects.
• Follow health & safety procedures and industry best practices.
• Progress through apprenticeship programme toward a Level 4 qualification.
• Develop knowledge of modern refrigeration technologies.

The Role

You'll gain hands on experience across supermarket refrigeration, CO2 refrigeration systems, food processing facilities, cold rooms, retail refrigeration, industrial plant and commercial projects while building the practical skills required to become a qualified Technician.
