Job summary

Master Automotive Repair Limited in Auckland is seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair vehicles, perform routine maintenance, and ensure safety standards are met. • 2 years of relevant experience or a Level 4 or above relevant qualification
• Must be flexible for work, able to work on weekends, and must cover our required shifts
• Long-term and full commitment are required

Responsibilities

• Inspecting Vehicles: Examine motor vehicles to determine the extent of damage or malfunction.
• Diagnosing Issues: Use diagnostic equipment and tools to identify mechanical and electrical problems in vehicles.
• Repairing Engines and Systems: Repair, overhaul, and replace components like engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering systems, and exhausts.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake adjustments, and fluid refills.
• Testing and Adjustments: Test vehicles to ensure that repairs were successful and systems are functioning properly.
• Replacing Parts: Replace worn, damaged, or defective parts with new or reconditioned parts.
• Advising Customers: Discuss vehicle issues and repair solutions with customers and provide cost estimates.
• Maintaining Records: Keep records of repairs, parts replaced, and time spent on each job for reporting and invoicing.
• Adhering to Safety Standards: Ensure all repairs comply with safety and environmental standards, particularly in handling hazardous materials like oil or batteries.
• Keeping Updated: Stay informed about new technology and mechanical systems in modern vehicles.
