Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora on the West Coast is seeking Reception Administrator casual staff and 6-month fixed term to welcome patients and support administration across Buller sites (Westport, Karamea, Ngakawau).

Join a busy team, develop skills in Indici and Touchpoint, manage appointments, records, payments, and liaise with clinical staff while upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi commitments.

Qualifications

  • Previous reception, administration, customer service, or office experience (2-3 years preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to juggle multiple tasks and remain calm under pressure.
  • Confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients and visitors with a friendly and professional approach.
  • Managing patient arrivals, appointments, and enquiries through our Indici system.
  • Answering and directing phone calls through our Touchpoint system.
  • Maintaining accurate patient and medical records.
  • Processing payments, invoices, banking, and reconciliations.
  • Supporting clinical teams with administrative tasks.
  • Assisting with IT troubleshooting and liaising with Digital Services when required.
  • Helping ensure a safe environment by following emergency procedures.
  • Providing seamless administrative support that helps keep healthcare services running smoothly.

We're looking for motivated and approachableReceptionist-Administrators to join our Integrated Administration Team and helpsupport healthcare services across the Buller region. We have positions for casual staff and for a6-month fixed term.

About the Role

As a Reception Administrator, you'll be at theheart of our health service, providing a warm welcome to patients and whānauwhile ensuring the day-to-day administration functions run smoothly.

You'll be part of a supportive team that worksclosely with both clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure people across theWest Coast can access the care they need.

These casual positions provide cover across ourBuller sites, primarily at Westport with occasional shifts in Karamea andNgakawau when needed.

As part of the Administration and Clerical PayEquity Claim settlement this role has beenmapped to National Band 3/Profile3C.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Confident using MicrosoftOffice, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
