Job summary

Tribe Group is seeking a frontend engineer to join a close-knit product squad. You’ll work on a web-first ReactJS app, guided by a Frontend Lead and reporting into Head of Engineering. Expect hands-on feature work, performance optimization, and ongoing improvements within a dynamic squad.

You’ll collaborate across APIs (REST/GraphQL), Node.js services, and AWS/serverless components, contributing to maintainable, scalable frontend systems. Hybrid in NZ with strong engineering leadership.

Qualifications

• Solid commercial experience building modern web apps with ReactJS.
• Strong JavaScript and/or TypeScript skills and a good feel for clean patterns.
• Experience integrating with REST and/or GraphQL APIs
• A quality mindset across performance, accessibility, and maintainability

Responsibilities

• Develop new features for a ReactJS web application within a product squad.
• Help address technical debt and raise the bar on maintainability and developer experience.
• Focus on performance to enhance UX and frontend reliability.
• Collaborate closely with frontend and backend engineers in a squad setting.
