Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a qualified Medical Imaging Technologist to join Lakes District Hospital on a fixed-term, part-time basis (32 hours per week) from 16 November 2026 to 31 December 2027. Based in General X-Ray, you will perform diagnostic imaging with a focus on safety and quality.

The Lakes District Hospital Radiology team works across X-Ray and CT facilities, with rostered shifts 08:00–22:00, Monday–Sunday, plus on-call overnight.

Qualifications

• Current registration and Annual Practising Certificate with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB).
• Strong commitment to patient safety, comfort and high-quality imaging.
• Clear and effective communication with patients and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsabilités

• Conduct diagnostic medical imaging examinations in a safe, professional manner.
• liaise with staff and patients within Hospital and wider Southern region.
• Maintain quality and professionalism and be able to work unsupervised.
