Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora's Whanganui Hospital is seeking a General Radiologist to join a friendly, well-equipped rural department. You will contribute to image interpretation across CT, MRI, x-ray and ultrasound, within a modern facility that serves a close-knit community.

Qualifications

• Hold vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, or be eligible for MCNZ registration (Locum Tenens pathway).
• Demonstrated ability to interpret imaging across CT, MRI, ultrasound, and radiographs.
• Strong collaboration with referring clinicians and teams.
• Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care and service development.

Responsibilities

• Interpret images across CT, MRI, x-ray and ultrasound.
• Vet and protocol imaging requests.
• Collaborate with referring clinicians and guide MITs.
• Teach and mentor house officers and registrars.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
