Job summary

The Hits Content team at New Zealand Media & Entertainment (NZME) is seeking a Content Assistant who loves music and radio. You’ll schedule music, review logs for accuracy, manage changes and ensure everything on air is polished and on brand for The Hits.

You’ll write sharp imaging copy, load and schedule campaigns, and support day-to-day programming with attention to detail and a proactive mindset. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the station with real responsibility from day one and

Qualifications

• Experience with music scheduling and broadcast systems would be an advantage.
• Excellent writing and copy-editing skills for imaging and on-air messaging.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and prepare The Hits music logs.
• Review each log for accuracy, flow and scheduling issues before it goes to air.
• Manage music changes, additions and rotations within scheduling systems.
• Take overall responsibility for The Hits music research programme, coordinating its execution and ensuring results are captured and available to inform music decisions.
• Work closely with the Content team on the day-to-day execution of The Hits music strategy.
• Write sharp, engaging station imaging and create copy supporting music position, shows, promotions and major station moments.
• Load and schedule imaging and keep on-air messaging fresh and up to date.
• Work with Content and Production to bring station campaigns and ideas to life.
• Provide day-to-day support to The Hits Content team.
• Help maintain the accuracy and integrity of broadcast and scheduling systems.
• Be the first point of contact for 24/7 technical support for The Hits, triaging on-air or broadcast issues and escalating them as needed.
• Assist with promotions, competitions, special programming and other station activity.
• Listen critically to The Hits and spot things to fix or improve.
