Job summary

Fulton Hogan's Levels Quarry in Timaru is seeking a hands-on operator to support daily production, keep plant and equipment in good shape, and maintain a safe, well-organised site. You'll work with a down-to-earth crew focused on reliability, safety and teamwork, joining a role where practical problem-solving and commitment to high standards are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in quarrying or similar hands-on environment.
• Experience operating heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, dump trucks or similar plant.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine checks and maintenance tasks.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Operate quarry plant and mobile equipment safely and efficiently to support daily production.
• Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and basic servicing of plant and equipment.
• Monitor site conditions, consent monitoring and support safe, compliant quarry operations at all times.
• Work closely with the wider team to keep production on track and the site running smoothly.
• Help maintain a clean, tidy, and well-organised worksite.
• Support stockpile management and quarry development activities across the site.
• Assist with quality assurance testing of aggregates.
• Identify and report hazards, faults, or maintenance issues promptly.
