Job summary

ABB Critical Power in Napier, New Zealand, is seeking an experienced Quality Leader to drive the ISO 9001 quality management program and build capabilities to meet customer and industry requirements. You’ll collaborate with internal teams to achieve world-class quality performance, prevention, and continuous improvement in a cost-effective, safe environment.

The role reports to the Quality Manager and is onsite in Napier, with stakeholders across production and customer quality interfaces.

Qualifications

• You are highly skilled in quality management systems and quality methodologies, such as ISO 9001, Internal Auditing, Six Sigma, or Lean principles.
• You have 8+ years of experience in implementing quality management system, preferably in power system manufacturing environments.
• You are proficient in quality management system with software platforms and data analytics tools relevant to the role.
• You demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a passion for continuous improvement and problem-solving.
• You hold a degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• You are at ease communicating in English and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• You are flexible for extended work following urgent requirements, as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Leading all activities relevant to quality management system requirements implementation in your area of responsibility.
• Assisting in continuously identifying and addressing risks and opportunities related to quality management in the local organization.
• Reporting quality performance, ensuring the Quality Management System is adhered to at all stages.
• Performing internal audits and uses Quality data analytics from all parts of the operation to identify risks, failures and non-conformances within the local operations, its suppliers and customers.
• Assisting in the application of appropriate corrective and preventive action and manages solutions to closure.
• Providing Quality training to local teams and enabling them to define and document processes that are efficient and under control.
• Facilitating resolution of customer cases by following a robust root cause analysis and implementing preventive and corrective actions.
