Job summary

Abbott in New Zealand is seeking a Laboratory Manager - Analytical to lead the analytical laboratory to deliver accurate, timely testing in support of manufacturing and product quality. You will ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, Abbott quality standards and regulatory obligations, acting as the laboratory representative during inspections and audits.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Science, Food Science, Microbiology or related field.
• At least 7 years’ laboratory experience with leadership responsibility in regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements and regulatory compliance.
• Experience leading investigations, CAPA, audits and non-conformance management.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams while managing operations and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage analytical laboratory operations to ensure safe, accurate testing within service levels.
• Maintain ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, Abbott quality standards and regulatory compliance.
• Represent the laboratory during accreditation assessments, inspections and audits.
• Provide technical leadership of analytical methods, specs, testing protocols and decision-making.
• Ensure method validation, verification, measurement uncertainty and QA programs are maintained.
• Oversee LIMS governance, security, data integrity and user access controls.
• Review and approve investigations, results and quality decisions within delegated authority.
• Develop and maintain laboratory competency, training and authorization programs.
