Placements24 partners with a respected FMCG producer in Queenstown to recruit a Quality Assurance Manager who will lead QA across production and labs. This on-site role requires hands-on oversight and a passion for product safety and regulatory compliance.

You will develop and manage the QMS, supervise the QA team, conduct internal and external audits, and drive CAPA and continuous improvement while ensuring HACCP, GMP and ISO 22000 standards are met in line with SA regulations.

Formación

• 4–6 years of QA/QC experience in FMCG food industry.
• In-depth knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000 and SA regulations.
• Experience implementing and managing QMS.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, implement, and manage the QMS in accordance with FMCG standards.
• Oversee QC activities: raw materials, in-process, finished product testing.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000 and internal standards.
• Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits by regulators/customers.
• Lead and mentor the QA team to foster quality culture.
• Investigate complaints and CAPA with corrective actions.
• Maintain quality documentation and certificates.
• Collaborate with Production, R&D, and Procurement for CI.
• Stay updated on evolving food safety regs and best practices.
• Champion quality culture across Queenstown operations.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with relevant **FMCG** standards and regulations.

• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000) and internal quality standards.
• Conduct regular internal audits and facilitate external audits by regulatory bodies and customers.

• Investigate customer complaints and non‑conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control within the **FMCG** food industry.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000) and **South African** food regulations.
• Proven experience in implementing and managing QMS.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with conducting internal audits and managing external audits.
