Placements24 is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist for a fully remote role in the FMCG sector. You will develop and manage QMS, conduct audits, and drive CAPA across multiple product lines.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a scientific field and at least 5 years of QA/QC experience in FMCG, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and adherence to regulatory standards are essential.

• Knowledge of SA quality standards and regulatory requirements

• Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality software
• Detail-oriented with strong communication in remote settings
• Experience with ISO 9001 or similar standards is a plus

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Quality Management Systems (QMS) for FMCG products.
• Conduct thorough quality audits of manufacturing processes, suppliers, and finished goods.
• Establish and monitor key quality metrics and KPIs to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations (e.g., SABS, HACCP), and internal quality policies.
• Collaborate with R&D, Production, and Supply Chain teams to ensure quality is integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop and deliver quality assurance training programs to relevant personnel.
• Manage documentation related to quality control, testing, and product specifications.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices in quality assurance for the FMCG sector.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within the FMCG industry.
• Proven experience in developing and managing QMS, conducting audits, and implementing CAPA.
• Strong knowledge of relevant quality standards and regulatory requirements in South Africa.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality management software.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
• Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to manage workload independently.
• Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management standards is a plus.
