Job summary

Accomplice Limited in Christchurch is seeking an experienced Qualified Carpenter to join a well-regarded local construction team. The role covers commercial interior fit-outs, renovations and residential projects with variety and growth opportunities.

You will manage your own workload on site, read plans, mentor apprentices, and work closely with other trades to deliver quality outcomes. A NZ Certificate in Carpentry (Level 4) and a full NZ Driver Licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• Qualified carpenter with NZ Certificate in Carpentry (Level 4) and solid experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
• Experience in commercial construction is highly regarded.
• Full NZ Driver Licence.
• Positive, team-first attitude.

About the role

This is a hands‑on role suited to an experienced Qualified Carpenter who enjoys variety and takes pride in delivering quality work.

Working across a range of commercial and residential projects, you'll be trusted to manage your own work, communicate professionally with clients and work closely with other trades to deliver successful outcomes.

You’ll also play an important role in supporting apprentices and contributing to the positive team culture that has become a key part of this business’s success.

About you

You’re someone who enjoys producing quality work and takes genuine pride in what you do.

You’re equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team, communicate well with clients and colleagues, and understand that your attitude is just as important as your technical ability.

You will likely have:

• New Zealand Certificate in Carpentry (Level 4) or recognised equivalent
• Solid experience as a qualified carpenter
• Ability to read and interpret plans
• Commercial construction experience (highly regarded)
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Full New Zealand Driver Licence
• A positive, team-first attitude
• Pride in delivering quality workmanship
