Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a QA Engineer to help shape a greenfield AI product in Auckland. You will define the testing approach, perform hands-on testing across functional, integration, and end-to-end levels, and collaborate with developers and product teams from day one.

You will own the QA function, drive quality culture, and mentor others as the product grows, balancing delivery with robust testing practices.

About the role

QA Engineer | Greenfield AI Product Auckland | 5 days in the office
This is not a role where you walk into years of legacy systems and a testing process that has already been decided for you.
We're building something brand new and looking for a QA Engineer who wants to help shape the way quality is done from the very beginning.
You’ll be joining a collaborative team building an AI-focused product designed to make a real difference. There is plenty of opportunity to bring your own ideas, build out the testing approach and take ownership of the QA function as the product grows.
You’ll play a key role in making sure quality is built into the product from day one.

That means you’ll be:

• Defining and shaping the overall testing strategy
• Getting hands-on with functional, integration and end-to-end testing
• Working closely with Developers, Product and the wider team
• Testing AI-driven functionality and helping figure out the best way to approach it
• Spotting risks and edge cases early in the development process
• Improving testing practices as the product and team grow
• Mentoring others and sharing your knowledge around quality
• Helping build a practical quality culture that supports delivery

What we’re looking for:

Technical skills are important, but how you communicate and work with people will be just as important in this role.

We’d love to hear from someone who can confidently work alongside Developers and stakeholders, explain their thinking clearly and bring people along with them.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Strong experience across software testing and QA

Working arrangements -Theteam is currently working 5 days a week from the Auckland office.
Because this is a greenfield product and the team is in the early stages of building it, being together and collaborating closely is an important part of how they work.
You’ll need to be genuinely comfortable with working from the office full-time.
