Job summary

Webjet Group NZ is seeking a QA Engineer for a 10-month parental leave cover starting mid-October. You will report to the QA Lead and collaborate with the Digital team to drive software quality across platforms and new capabilities.

Responsibilities include reviewing stories, writing test scenarios, and defect lifecycle management while thriving in a fast-paced startup environment. Hybrid work options are available in Auckland.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience as Quality Analyst or Software Tester.
• Experience with Confluence, Bitbucket and JIRA.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Experience in cross-functional teams within an agile framework.
• Good time management and multi-tasking.
• Critical thinker with problem-solving skills.

Job description

We’re looking for a QA Engineer to join us on a 10-month parental leave cover starting mid-October. You’ll be reporting to the QA Lead and working closely with the entire Digital team and wider business, to drive software quality in a variety of different contexts.The day-to-day involves writing and executing tests, supporting both regular platform maintenance and agile teams building exciting new capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Review user stories and requirements for validity and feasibility
• Write test cases covering different scenarios that the end user may experience using test design techniques
• Log defects and manage defect life cycle

About You

This is not your first foray into software quality, and you have been a part of development teams in the past, supporting testing. You are not afraid to recommend fresh ideas and ask the hard questions. You’re ready for a fast-paced start up environment that has its sights set on growth.

Key skills and experience

• At least 2 years’ experience as a Quality Analyst / Software Tester
• Experience working with Confluence, Bitbucket and JIRA
• Experience working with Agile Methodologies
• Be able to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative to improve any systems being tested
• Work well with others in a team environment and be an effective communicator
• Experience working in a cross functional team within an agile framework
• Possess a can-do attitude with good time management skills
• Work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Be a critical thinker and have great problem solving skills
